A Different Love

So here is another poem that Tupac wrote, and he writes it to some girl named Elizabeth. A lot of his poetry and lots of his lyrics are totally personal and directly spoken to one person, it’s hard to say what he meant exactly and what his message was, but because of his personal writing, he touches everyone on a different level and his art gets interpreted by all. You know on the song Thugz Mansion from his album Better Dayz, his last verse is:

Dear momma don't cry,
your baby boy's doin good
Tell the homies I'm in heaven
and they ain't got hoods
Seen a show with Marvin Gaye last night,
it had me shook
Drinkin peppermint Schnapps,
with Jackie Wilson,
and Sam Cooke
Then some lady named Billie Holiday
Sang sittin there kickin it with Malcolm,
'til the day came
Little LaTasha sho' grown
Tell the lady in the liquor that she's forgiven,
so come home
Maybe in time you'll understand
only God can save us
When Miles Davis cuttin lose with the band
Just think of all the people that you knew in the past
that passed on,
they in heaven,
found peace at last
Picture a place that they exist,
Together
There has to be a place better than this,
in heaven
So right before I sleep,
dear God,
what I'm askin
Remember this face,
save me a place,
in thug's mansion

AaaWw, this is one of my favorite songs, ever since the first time I heard it. I can listen to this song all day and still get shivers down my spine every time. But back to what I was saying about how his lyrics are dedicated right out to someone. You would have to know about LaTasha or the lady at the liquor store to know what’s up. I guess LaTasha died at a young age and that lady must have done something pretty bad and then wasn’t forgiven by her community, and maybe not even by herself. I still don’t fully understand the healing power of Tupac’s words, but it’s there. He was most definitely touched by GOD at some point in his life. Quite young probably… .. oh, and on the same deal what does B.S.A. stand for? ? ?

E L I Z A B E T H
A different Love……………..from B.S.A.

I RememBeR WheN U were LOST
and your soul was iN the wiND
IT was at this awkward moment
That u and I Became friends
But Then your soul was found
and U discovered celibacy
But with this U forgot about me
and our Bond was a memory
And NOW I C U felt it
the Bond we made Before
I pray 2 GOD it stands
And severs never more
- Tupac
